Self Reliance

Self-reliance is being able to depend on one's self to take care of life's affairs and do them in the proper order. It means that we are the ones that must put forth the effort to make things happen and develop the skills necessary to accomplish any idea, goal, or dream that we may have.

“Self-reliance is a product of our work and undergirds all other welfare practices. It is an essential element in our spiritual as well as our temporal well-being.”
—Thomas S. Monson, “Guiding Principles of Personal and Family Welfare,Liahona, Feb. 1987, 5

We are striving to become more self reliant. Along with developing and sharing the talents that we already possess we are trying to learn new skills each day. We love trying new things and gathering all the knowledge we can. Even if we don't have a need for that knowledge now there might come a time when we will need it and we will be grateful we put forth the effort to learn it.
